Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a fabulous thanksgiving and that no one got too crazy shopping today, on black friday! I absolutely love this time of year. It's especially fun to reflect back on the past year and thank God for everything that he's blessed us with. Thanksgiving day was very low key for us this year which was just wonderful. Our day consisted of a morning visit to meijer to get a few things and then we headed over to my parents house for the afternoon to eat, veg, and check out the ads! After that we went over to Mom and Dad Hunderman's house for the rest of the day to visit with them. Just a nice day of relaxation and yummy food!

I am so thankful for so many things this thanksgiving. God, Family, Friends, a wonderful hubby, a beautiful baby, food, a warm house, jobs, good health, and fun times. Thats just the beginning, there is just so much that we take forgranted that thanksgiving is just a nice time to realize how much we are blessed.

This afternoon in the midst of shopping and all the madness we had an amazing experience. My cousin Ellen and her mom chose a child through World Vision to sponsor. She was looking through the kids and noticed ONE child from Guatemala that was in the sponsor list. She had been to Guatemala just this past summer and knew how bad these kids have it, she could feel for this child because she saw his culture and his surroundings in person. She said the moment she saw this child and saw that he was the only one from Guatemala, she had chills down her spine. She knew that it was meant to be that they sponsor that child, so thats just what they did. Next summer she's returning to Guatemala and it would be SO special if she could meet her child. How special to witness God's presence in this situation. It was just amazing to see how excited she was to help!

Well we're all caught up now, but I have to share a few pics of Caden before I go!

Ready or Not...Here I come!!

In the last few weeks there have been SO many changes in our house. When you think everything is "baby-proofed" think again...because if it's not he will find it! It's so fun to have him on the move, but it's also a lot more work! I love watching him move all over and accomplish things that he works so hard to get at. Being a mother has to be the most rewarding thing EVER.

Once we learned how to crawl, we decided that mom's pictures would be fun to get into. He found my "baby safe" picture frames and decided to sit and look at them. Then he proceded to crawl around the house with the pictures in hand! Oh how he loves his cousins.

Crawling...thats old news already, now we've decided to jump right into STANDING. One morning Jason went to get him out of his crib and he was standing up against the rail. So when I went and got him after his nap, I took my camera and got this shot of him sitting up on his knee's. What a monster!

Other than several new accomplishments that Caden has discovered in our house we've been getting ready for winter (which seems as if it's already here!). So many things to store in the garage and get ready for the snow to fall. I have a feeling it won't be long. Well thats about all thats going on around here. Halloween is coming up soon, and it should be exciting to dress Caden up. Check back for more pictures soon!

It's Fall!

I can never wait for the start of fall...when the leaves begin to change color, and the weather cools down. It's my favorite time of year! Even more of a reason to celebrate...Jason and I just got done celebrating 2 years of marriage. We went across the state to the Detroit area for a day and hung out at IKEA and had a great day away. Time away is so precious but I missed my little guy while we were gone for the day, but grandma and grandpa took good care of him! It's so hard to believe that it's been two years already.

Anothing thing that we are celebrating this week is Caden will be 7 months! He's been such a blessing to Jason and I. I can't believe how big he's gotten and how smart he is. He now can get up on all fours and wobble back and forth...those first crawling moments are in our near future. He goes backwards, but not forward yet. We have been working for the last few weeks to baby-proof the house, so hopefully we'll soon be ready! Here is a pic that I just took when we were at the park.

The End of Summer...

This summer has gone by so fast! It seems like it should just be beginning, especially since our weather has been so cool all summer. We haven't been up to much around here. Caden is just growing and getting SO big, Sadie is always sleeping, and Jason is always at work. We have been blessed with him working quite a bit of extra hours in the last few weeks. We're ready for things to calm down and be able to see more of each other again. We have a camping trip this weekend that we're pretty excited for. We'll be gone for 5 days, it should a fun way to end the summer, we hope it's warm and not rainy, but this is Michigan so we expect the worst!

Regardless of what we're up to, our highlight in life is our little guy. He's rolling over, sitting up, eating baby food, AND has his first tooth! Here I'll put up some of his 6 month pictures! Isn't he cute?!

Rolling...Rolling...Rolling

First off...Uncle Steve is HOME! We're so thankful that my brother Steve is home after 3 long years in prison, following a tragic accident on his way home from his bachelor party (two weeks before the wedding) HE IS HOME! We are so thankful for him to be home safely and with his wife. This is a picture of Caden meeting him for the first time. He played on the floor with Caden for most of the night. It was a great evening of getting together with BOTH of my siblings...for the first time in 3 years. We love you Uncle Steve! Welcome Home!

ALSO...the next new thing...it's the story of our lives. Caden is now rolling over! He can't be put down on the ground for too many minutes with out flipping to his stomach. He LOVES it! It's so cute to watch him grow and learn new things. Each day is a new discovery. God IS Good!

I just thought I'd quick post a few things that are going on in our lives. Things are busy and exciting around here! :)

Summertime!

Life in the Hunderman house has been busy. Caden has gotten himself quite the personality and is so much fun to be home with. I am so thankful to be blessed with two full days a week to be home with the two most amazing guys in my life! It's great, especially in the summer. There is so much to do...sun...pools...walks... summertime is just great.

The other day we went to a friends house for some pool and sun time. It was so nice, Caden napped in his little raft while I got a chance to lay out. I just appreciate the time for this summer because next summer I'll be chasing him all over. I can't wait though!

Then there was father's day...I had to post this picture of Caden with his dad because it's so precious. Jason is such a great father and really has a passion for kids and loves Caden SO much. It's amazing to see a fathers love for his child first hand. I really love them and am thankful for such a great husband and father to our son!

Getting Bigger Everyday!

Yep, thats right...my little guy just keeps growing and growing. He's recently discovered his voice and now he likes to just scream and make noises for fun! And he's also becoming a copy cat, he loves to try to copy noises that I make at him. It's SO cute. He just keeps getting more and more fun. I'd like to freeze him at the age that he is now! He's perfect! He's not quite mobile...but no longer at that lay around and do nothing state. Who knew that being a mom would be so much fun!?

This pictures just cracks me up. He is looking at me like "what are you doing mama." I just wish he could talk so that I knew what he was thinking!

Okay besides the fun and games going on by us, we've been staying very busy! When I work during the week Caden goes to visit Grandma Hunderman, and then when I'm home he's usually with me...besides this week...we have Vacation Bible School at our church and I'm helping out with the Jr. Highers portion of it. It makes for a VERY busy but fun week. Caden's 4 month appointment/shots are just around the corner. We'll be going to get those in about 2 1/2 weeks. Then life will experience a whole new substance for Caden....cereal! We'll let ya know how that goes soon enough!

Where Does Time Go?

Well, my little man will be 3 Months old on Monday. I can’t believe that it’s been 3 months already. We ventured out to Grand Rapids yesterday and got his pictures taken at JC Penney’s. They weren’t as patient as Sears was when it comes to trying to get a baby to smile. The portrait studio was so busy and had appointments booked every 15 minutes that we didn’t have much time, but got a few cute ones anyways. I have to admit…he’s even cute without a smile. :)

It just happened to work out that Caden's cousins (on the Hunderman side) needed their pictures taken as well. They both turned 4 and 1 years old in April. So we decided to get some taken of the three of them together for Grandma and Grandpa.
The following pictures are a few more of my favorites...

May Days

Throughout the month of May we’ve been experiencing lots of busy-ness between work, friends, church, Mothers Day, and soon to be Memorial Day. Being back to work is an experience in itself. It’s hard to be away a couple days a week, but I am very thankful for the couple days that I can enjoy at home with Jason and Caden as well.

This coming weekend we have lots of “festivities” and fun to look forward to. Saturday is my sister (Amanda’s) baby shower. She didn’t get a chance to have the shower before Aubree was born so we get to look forward to it now, and Aubree actually gets to attend this way! Also, we have Caden’s baptism on Sunday evening, with a luncheon with family and friends following. We’re so thankful to have such a beautiful little boy that God has given to us. So what better way to celebrate this gift from God.

Then on Monday we get to celebrate our last Kids hope meeting with a small party at church. That’s always a fun event, so I’m excited for that. Then a week from Monday we’ll be busy once again with the Olive Center 50’s Diner. We’ll be getting out our poodle skirts and serving the community once again. It’s such a fun day, I can’t hardly way for it from year to year! You all should come out and join us…it’s from 11-2pm on Memorial day. The location is on Polk Street in Olive Center. Just look for the signs!!

Anyways, now that I got my little advertising pitch in…Here are a few more pictures of Tulip time and such…we did end up finding a costume for Caden, not until the middle of the week, but it made for some cute pictures anyways. Enjoy!

Spring!

I love this time of year! On warm days it's so nice to go outside and watch a ball game or have a campfire. That's just what we've been doing around here. This past weekend we enjoyed saturday morning at the Dandelion Festival and then Saturday afternoon consisted of a ball game. Then on Sunday night we had a little fire out back on our patio. It was such a nice weekend, I can't wait for more warm days that we can enjoy outside!

AND... it's tulip time and we've been getting in the spirit this year! I'll post a few pictures, but we didn't get a costume for Caden, just wooden shoes. They don't really fit his feet very well, so I don't have any good pictures with them on, but I'll post pictures of the shoes anyways. Plus, we have some cute pictures of my new niece Aubree. She had a costume on the other night as well as her wooden shoes, it was SO cute! :)

And we're off...

I'm going to try the blogging thing. Hopefully we can get in the habit and keep it up-to-date. I'll begin by telling you a bit about our lives lately. Things changed around here on February 25. Our precious baby boy was born at Zeeland Community Hospital. Caden John was a healthy 9lb 12oz baby and was 22 inches long. He's 2 months old now and is so much fun to have around. He is going to have lots of friends/family his age as he's growing up because we have two other friends that have had boys in the last few weeks and my sister, Amanda, just recently had a little girl. So many new babies and they've all been healthy. We are so thankful for that.

It's been so fun to be home with Caden for the last 8 weeks, however, last week Wednesday I had to return back to work. I never could understand why people always had a hard time going back to work after having a baby, but now I do. I miss him so much when I'm at work all day. It's going to be something that I'm going to have to get used to. Having a job these days is such a blessing so I should appreciate what I have. Well there is a brief update on the Hunderman's these days. Hopefully we get a chance to add more soon. I'll post a few pictures of our precious boy before I go!
